24 Jul Meet the Team – marketing coordinator Lizzi
Lizzi is 24 years old and grew up in South Africa before moving to Wales when she was 16. She has a degree in economics from the University of Manchester and is a brilliant asset to our marketing team as events and promotions coordinator.
Meet Lizzi Pepper!
“I spent three years studying in Manchester and after that I couldn’t wait to go and travel! I went out to the Middle East, China, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. My favourite place was Lord Howe island in Australia where I worked as a resort host for six months.
“I was still away travelling when I applied to work at Surf Snowdonia. Despite being several thousand miles away I had heard the buzz it was creating. Originally, I applied for a marketing role but ended up coming into the company as the guest services supervisor for the summer season. It was a great way to get to know the company and our customers and was also a great welcome back to Wales too!
“Over the winter I look some time out to explore Vietnam, coming back to Surf Snowdonia for a new role with the marketing team in 2018. My focus is on running our promotions and events.
“It was initially a bit of a leap from my experience on reception and guest services, and I was sad to leave my friends on the front desk but super excited to take my first steps into the world of marketing and events.
“Life here at Surf Snowdonia is incredibly social, especially over the summer months. There’s always something going on from barbeques at the beach to a pint at the pub after work – there’s always someone who’s up for doing something after the waves end. It’s awesome to make friends from all over the world as well as with people who live locally all year. And of course, albeit slowly, learning how to surf is a huge perk of the job, along with meeting the occasional celebrity!
“Working in events is a super fun job – I love the adrenaline during the lead up to the day and the satisfaction of seeing it all come together. I’m a fan of going to festivals and gigs myself, so to be able to put a festival or event on myself for other people to enjoy is really cool!”
